The Bi-Fold
8ft x 14ft (2.4m x 4.2m)
About this building
Our bi-folding rooms are fully insulated and lined, the exterior boards are 18mm thick pressure treated PTGV that we coat prior to leaving our factory in a microporous oil treatment that allows the timber to breathe, whilst protecting the boards throughout the seasons. Opting for bi-folding doors over traditional wooden doors will create the illusion of more space within a natural, light and airy environment.

The Second Number is the Gable Wall
If a shed is listed as 8×6, the 6ft side is the gable. If it is 6×8, the 8ft side is the gable.
Pent Sheds: The second measurement tells you which side slopes from high to low.
Apex Sheds: The second measurement tells you which side comes to a triangular peak.
The second measurement is always the gable end.
In Detail
The style of door you choose is one of the biggest design decisions to make when buying a garden building. Not only will your choice have an impact on the aesthetic style of the building, but it will also affect how you access the room and the connection this has with your outside space. Garden rooms with bi-folding doors have seen a surge in popularity, because you have the option to open up the whole section of glazing, which creates a free-flowing indoor/outdoor living space and enhances the connection with your garden.

Pressure Treated Timber
The external cladding for our garden rooms is tanalised pressure treated timber. The wood is placed in preservative and then put into a vacuum, forcing the preservative deep inside so it gets completely saturated — protecting against damp and insects.
After pressure treatment, our timber goes through a controlled drying process where each piece is latted to allow air flow until it reaches a moisture content of 9–12%. This prevents shrinking and cracking.
All Vista buildings are treated with a microporous oil treatment sealant that allows the timber to breathe but doesn't allow water penetration. This needs reapplying once or twice a year — before winter and before summer — for best results.
